EXPERIENCE

Whether you have been flying R/C for years or are just getting started, SPAD built planes are a blast to fly and are easily fixed when you have those unexpected sudden arrivals.  The staff here at SPADflyer have cumulatively been flying R/C for over 40 years and have come to the conclusion that sometimes it's nice to fly something that didn't take you a 100 hours to build just to find out that it's more plane than you are ready for, or you just didn't quite anticipate what would happen that day.  With the SPADflyer  you don't have to worry so much.

GET FLYING SOONER

In just a few hours your SPADflyer can be ready to fly for your amusement and enjoyment.   With a minimum of effort you can have a fun to fly, easy to repair R/C plane that will make you a better R/C pilot without risking the loss of a lot of money and hours of your time.  Get flying sooner with the SPADflyer!

STABILITY & MANEUVERABILITY

The SPADflyer is very stable in flight and can fly slow enough for the beginning gas pilot to control or fast enough to do snap rolls, outside loops or keep up in a good old fashioned dog fight. Large control surfaces allow for slow flight while still giving the pilot plenty of control and stability for a feeling of confidence.  At higher speeds you can use your dual rates for control or just give it a little action on the sticks and watch it respond.  The SPADflyer is the perfect aircraft for any pilot or ready-to-be pilot of R/C planes.  If you have been waiting to get into R/C flying, but aren't quite ready to invest in a build-it-yourself kit, the space to work on it, the special adhesives and the tools to build it, this is the kit for you!  Even if you've been flying for years and have a balsa forest in your hobby shop, SPAD's are a blast to fly.

MINIMIZE HANGER RASH FRUSTRATION - @%#&!~

The cure for "numb thumbs" is flying more.  The way to fly more with less worry involves either a rich sponsor, personal wealth or a reckless abandon for the time involved in creating and "tweaking" your flying treasures.

Or......you could have a SPAD in your hangar.

Less hangar rash!  No more worries about transportation boo-boos!  More flying without regret for those occasional learning events, i.e.. failed experiments, dumb thumb episodes, hard landings, radio glitches, gremlins............ What do you call them?

Cheap is not always good.  How about Good and Cheap?

This is our 4th Generation SPADflyer - Totally machined, straight lines, beautifully crafted!

48" Wing with 10 1/2" Cord - 40" Fuselage - 16" Tail  - 8" Rudder

Ailerons are 1.5" deep and Rudder and Elevator have 2" control surfaces.

With all the talk about wing profiles and the ability of one type to fly better than another we have chosen to go with the best.  In fact we have improved on it with the addition of false ribs and a high lift air-foil that allows for faster take offs on shorter runways and slower landing speeds.  This wing will take sharp turns without tip-stalling.  Unlike some other designs the SFCC design will command the sky with authority.

This is our 3rd Generation SPADflyer - Simple design, straight lines, great response!

48" Wing with 10 1/2" Cord - 40" Fuselage - 20" Tail with 9" Cord - 9" Rudder

Ailerons are 2" deep and Rudder and Elevator have 3" control surfaces.

Early prototypes.  Some crashed horrifically during a case of dumb thumbs - gremlins - you name it!

We changed the design and rebuilt.

This was our second generation prototype which logged many flight hours, and we had a great time experimenting with different design elements.  A moment of pilot disorientation recently ended it's flights.
